Our immigration beginnings

My husband & I are in a long queue waiting for us to be accepted for Canadian immigration from the UK.

We started the process back in October 2003 when we decided that we no longer wanted to live in the UK, but in Canada – a place we hadn’t even visited at that point.

We visited the Canadian immigration site and downloaded all the relevant forms that we needed to complete to start our application. The amount of information required was amazing. Basically we had to verify everything we had ever done since the age of 18. This included references from all past employers, list of addresses ever lived in, certificates for qualifications, proof of language, income and savings etc. The list was endless and it took us a total of 4 months to get all the stuff together.

We eventually sent off our four inch thick application at the beginning of March 2004…..the wait began.
