First round of house hunting

Well today (Monday) we met our real estate agent in Tillsonburg ON. We had an early start 9am and ended up visiting half a dozen properties.

Of those a couple were possibles. One was really nice but there was evidence of subsidence so we ruled that one out even though everything else about it was perfect.

A couple were awful and one needed about $100k of work doing on it to bring it up to livable standards.

Although we did not find a house we would be prepared to buy, the agent was brilliant and took us around the whole area, showing us all the “sights”. We feel that the area is perfect for us, so will continue to look in this area for any properties which come on the market whilst we are here.

On Wednesday we are visiting the Simcoe area with another realtor, so we may find we like this area even better – or not.

Tomorrow we are hoping to look into the business side of our move and will also be popping into the bank to pick up our ATM cards.
