Trying to set up a Canadian bank account

After spending the last several months waiting and waiting, we have managed to get lots of research done. We know the sort of property we want, the area we want to live, the work we want to do etc etc.

It is just a case of that magic envelope coming through the door saying that we should take a medical. That is basically the next stage. We may have to have an interview too, but won’t know until immigration gets in touch which could still be six months away.

Today we visited our local bank who have branches in Canada and applied for a Canadian bank account. Apparently it can take about six weeks to sort out, so hopefully we in a couple of months we should have a bank account in Canada – wow! Another step close – we are very easily pleased!
