I have now sorted out the car and we are selling it next weekend….my beautiful Audi TT boo hoo! We are then going to hire a car for three months initially, but can extend this is as required. It will make everything much easier when we need to emigrate as we can simply hand the car back when we go. If we had to worry about selling our car at the point of moving it would be too much hassle on top of everything else.
So, this is our first giant leap towards emigration, lets hope it is not in vain.
Also started to clear the house of excess belongings and trying to get rid of as much as possible so that we are not having to rush to be rid of everything later.
We got a valuation on our car and have decided to sell it and lease a car on a short term basis until we leave for Canada. We should get everything sorted out in the next week or so. Very sad to see our car go, but it will help us when we get the nod from CHC as we can just hand the lease car back and possibly even leave it at the airport when we leave.
We have also decided that we want to see what Alberta is all about. We have always thought we would locate in SW Ontario and have visited the area twice. However, now we are getting close (hopefully) to actually going we are having second thoughts about our destination.
We love the idea of Alberta and its scenery etc so plan to land there initially and spend a month looking around, then make the decision as to where we end up. If we find that we don’t like Alberta, we can always go back to plan A and go to Ontario.
