Love the Prince Edward Island area
Today we set off for Wellington on the island and met up with our realtor, Sharon. We had 7 properties to see and what a day we had.
Wellington is a nice town and we travelled from there to the Wellers Bay area, which again is a nice area with great water views. We saw a couple of properties in this area, but neither suited our needs. We then went on to the Ameliasburgh area, which again looked very nice. Lots of trees around and the land is not too flat so is quite scenic. Most of the properties in the area looked well cared for. We saw one particular property which was on 5 acres and was really nice. The only thing was it was probably too big, with too many rooms (what would we do with them all?). We spent quite a long time here though as it ticked many of our boxes.
After this we moved onto the Bay of Quinte area and saw a great property which had water views from both front and back of the house. It also had a lovely two tier deck and large pool. It was on just under two acres and was not too big. Also it didn’t have a basement, just two levels above ground which was nice. This and the house above are definite maybes and we will go back to see them.
The agent we had was great and pointed out many areas and different points to consider. If she thought a house was poor value or had a problem she told us about it – just like what would happen in the UK – NOT!
We completely fell in love with the island and can see ourselves settling there. Tomorrow the same agent is taking us around north of Belleville. We are seeing properties in Murray, Sidney, Tyendinaga and Brighton areas, so we will see what they throw up. If nothing comes of this, we will go back to the two on the island and will probably put in an offer. I think we have ruled out the Kingston area as it didn’t appeal nearly as much as the area we visited and high speed internet is not easily available there. On the island, HSI seems to be available in most places.
Today it has been a beautiful day here, bright sunshine and 23 degrees. I had to go over to the mall this evening to buy a couple of t-shirts as I hadn’t bought anything short sleeved with me!
Can’t wait to see what we find tomorrow!
