Money exchange completed

Last week we exchanged quite a lot of our UK funds to Canadian and transferred it to our Canadian account. We did this through HiFX and it was very quick and easy.

We were obviously trying to get the best rate we could. When we were out visiting Canada last year the exchange rate was a healthy 2.4 $ to the £. So to exchange at 2.09 was a little disappointing, however since then it has slowly fallen again. The last time I looked it was only 2.05, so looks like we made a good move. Only a few weeks ago it went well below the $2 mark.

Only six weeks to go before we land and only 4 weeks before I leave my job, two very good reasons to feel pretty good at the moment.

Still haven’t sold the house though, still fingers crossed!

Handed in my notice at work

I handed my notice in yesterday, so I only have a few weeks left to work, yippee!

My boss was aware of our emigration plans, so handing in my notice came as no surprise for him. My final day will be 23rd June. We will then have two weeks in the UK to get everything in order before we fly out and land on July 7th.
