We had a little bit of snow!!!!

Well it started snowing on Friday morning and didn’t stop until about 4am Sunday resulting in the worst March snow in years. We had already cleared a lot of the snow we had previously had (to make room for this lot) and a good job we did as we had another 18 inches which has drifted to over three feet in some places in the garden and driveway.

For the first time this year we cannot even hope to get out of our driveway without help from a snowplow. I called a “man who can” this morning and he is going to come out later today.

I was supposed to travel to Oshawa yesterday for a conference but decided not to go because of the storm. I am glad I didn’t as not only was the weather bad and there were lots of accidents, but I would never have got back up the drive on my return. The woman next door went out yesterday and couldn’t get back up our road or her drive and had to leave the car abandoned at the end of the road.

I hope this is the last storm of the year, apparently we only need a couple more cm to beat the all time snowfall record set 35 years ago. Roll on the spring.
