Spring is in the air
As Friday is the first official day of spring it is no surprise that we are starting to see spring appear in the garden. This is in the form of the animals and birds.
We have seen a couple of chipmunks pop up and take a look outside but not for any length of time. We also have far less snowbirds about (dark eyed junkos) as apparently these migrate up north in the summer. This last week has seen a influx of male blackbirds, no females yet and lots of grackles. Here are some pics I took yesterday.

We also have our returning squatters – the killdeer. Every summer we have been here two killdeer have arrived in late March and camp out on our front garden and raise their young. They arrived on Friday 13th March which is a couple of weeks earlier than last year, but the weather is better this year, so this is probably why.
Most of our snow has now gone – for good we hope! The temps are warming up with the last few days just peeking into double digits. The temps are going down again over the next few days but still going to be around 7C, so not too bad.

Wow no snow!
I can see grass in your pics and it even has a tinge of green about it.
All I can still see is white outside my back door.
I hope we are not far behind you here in the far east.
It is more brown than green at the moment, but it’s getting there.
