Beautiful snowy morning

This morning was a beautiful crisp winter morning. The sun was shining brightly, the snow was about two or three inches deep on the ground and it was truly Christmas card material. Here is a photos showing the depth of snow on our deck posts.

The squirrels were leaping around in the snow too. I think they had forgotten about snow and it seemed to amuse them slightly. Also, I suppose some of the young ones may not have lived through a winter yet, so it is all new to them. I cannot wait until the snow is deeper and they are tunnelling across the garden and poking their heads up in the middle of the snow – so funny.

1st of December brings first snow

Well we knew we wouldn’t get away with it forever and today, the 1st of December we had our first snowfall of the season. It snowed in the early hours of the morning and left us looking like this at 7:30 this morning.

However by the afternoon it had all but disappeared.

According to the weather man on CTV, we broke records as Toronto city has not had a snow-free November for 162 years! Not sure wht the record is in Belleville, but I will be quite happy if this is our only snowfall of the year and it doesn’t do it again until 2010. Dream-on…..
