Winter over, spring here?
In my last post I mentioned that winter had finally arrived – well it did for that week, but since then the weather has been beautiful. We have had blue skies, sunshine, warm weather. In fact this week we have been above 12C all week and the last couple of days have seen temps as high as 17C – in March!
The chipmunks have come out to play, the grackles and blackbirds have arrived in force. We have seen hundreds of geese flying over, presumably returning from warmer climes. The male morning doves are starting the chase the females all over the garden, much to their annoyance and the male goldfinches are starting to change from green to yellow. All signs that spring is really here.
I am not going to say that winter has finished, because you can never be sure, but looking out the window at the moment it is hard to argue otherwise.
