First babies of the summer arrive
This week has seen the first of our backyard babies arrive. First the killdeer showed off her four young babies. They have spent the last few days running round the front garden. I will try to get close enough to get some photos, but it is very hard as they run as soon as you get anywhere near. Might have to try to get some from the car as strangely they don’t seem too bothered by a ton of metal sitting nearby, but little ole me, now that’s another story!
The other babies have been the rabbits. We have seen two young rabbits chasing each other round the garden. Know rabbits there are more where they came from.
The chipmunks also have babies as we have seem females who are obviously nursing, so hopefully in a few weeks we will have baby chipmunks everywhere. Here is one of the males we have, posing for Chris in the garden.
