Just looked out the patio doors this morning and saw this praying mantis on the deck. I love these, they are so amazing. Quite creepy looking but fantastic all the same.
Chris got his camera too and when the mantis saw its reflection in the screen it attacked it.
Fascinating creature.
The other night a huge luna moth appeared on our patio doors. We have never seen on of these before and it was really beautiful. Apparently they only live a week as a moth and have no mouth so don’t eat. They simply mate, lay eggs and die. This one chose an inconvenient place to land, right on the window pane dividers so I could not get a good photo.
The moth was about the size of my hand, so pretty big for a moth. Lets hope we see one again soon.
