The summer is officially over and the weather is on the change. Leaves are changing colour on the trees and many are falling, but in our garden we have one final reminder of summer – a sunflower!

Normally we cannot grow sunflowers as the many chipmunks and squirrels eat the seeds and they don’t get a chance to grow. However this year one seed seems to have escaped. We weren’t sure it would even flower when it started to grow but with the help of some sun it finally emerged. It has to be said it is not going to win any awards for the tallest sunflower as it is only about two feet tall, but it is pretty none the less!

If like me you love taking photos then you will want to take a look at a new website called Go Snap it. This is where Canadians can submit their Canadian photography and have it appear on the website for all to see. To quote the site:

“The aim of this project is to capture everyday life throughout Canada as seen by ordinary Canadians. As the tag line says “life as you see it” covers a wide range of subjects, from family & friends, fun days out, local breaking news, your business, abstract views on life, sporting events, street life etc. Anyone from the casual snapper to the professional photographer can participate. Just go-snapit!”

I have submitted a few photos already, and will send more once I get time to sort them out!

These pics may eventually appear in a book – fame at last!

You will find lots of photos of animals, birds and other critters we have come across since moving here. I have also included albums of various places in Canada and the USA we have visited.

I have enjoyed putting this together as I had forgotten some of the photos, I hope you enjoy looking at them too.
