So far we really haven’t had a winter. Yes we have had cold weather, sometimes very cold, but we have had very little snow. In fact this is the least snowy winter we have had since being here. However, winter has finally arrived. It started snowing on Monday evening, then turned to rain on Tuesday, but last night the snow started and it hasn’t stopped so far. The weather man said we might get 20cm over the next few days.
This is what our garden looks like at the moment.

Last night we also had the deer wander through and because it wasn’t yet dark I managed to get some photos.

I seemed to have pressed the shutter just as something spooked them…

We went to Kingston yesterday and purchased some new fish for our tank. They are very pretty and I will try to get some photos of them to blog soon. At the moment they are still a bit shy and skittish, so I will wait until they are more settled before making them pose for the camera!
Also, last week we went to Toronto for the Autoshow. We took some photos but I have not had time to look at them and get them on my blog. Maybe soon.
We have been pretty busy lately so haven’t had too much time to keep my blog up to date or to Twitter etc. But here goes….
We have been getting several young rabbits in the garden, although I am surprised we don’t get more considering their reputation for breeding. We haven’t seen any very small ones like we did last year, but there are a few young ones about.
We also seem to be inundated with chipmunks at present, so perhaps their young are now exploring although they all look pretty much similar in size etc. We have one that is tame and will take peanuts out of our hands but the others keep their distance. These are some of my favorite chipmunk pics.

The weather this summer has been very unpredictable. Lots of rain, although we have had less here than in other areas of the province. It has also been cooler than the normal summer temps but we are quite happy about that. Mid to high 20′s suits us fine rather than the overpowering 30′s. The last two days we have had a lot of storms, thunder, lightening etc but again we have go off lightly compared to areas around Toronto and Ottawa. temps with the humidity have been in the high 30′s , low 40′s. We have lost the Internet and TV occasionally but the power has stayed on so can’t complain too much. The next week is going to be really nice apparently with temps in the high 20′s and sun, no rain forecast.
