We’ve been sapsucked
We saw a new bird in the garden the other day that resembled a woodpecker but not our usual ones. However we didn’t have time to get a photo. Today we saw two of them and managed to get some quick if not particularly good photos. Having compared them to our bird book we now know they are Yellow Bellied Sapsuckers – yes really! The two we have are juveniles as they do not have the red heads of the adults. So if we have young ones it must mean we have adults somewhere too.
This is a completely new bird to us, so even two years in we are still discovering new wildlife in the garden.
