I have been neglecting my blog for the last couple of weeks. Put simply I haven’t really done anything of note to speak about. We had a very quiet Christmas. Had a long chat with my aunt and uncle in Spain where they were celebrating with friends in 18C temps – we had 18C too, but with a minus in front!

TV at Christmas was really crap, so we rented several films from Blockbuster to keep us going. One we thought was really good was Eagle Eye. I also bought several games for my Nintendo Wii and have been playing those quite a bit, certainly more than I would normally play on the Wii. I tend to play on Sunday’s whilst hubby is watching football – trouble is the season is coming to an end soon, so my Wii hours may be reduced! I really like one game that I bought almost by accident – Zack & Wikki. One of the stores I found another game in had an offer of 2 for $40 so I got this game and it is really good. I also really love Rayman Raving Rabbits – it is hilarious.

So that is what I have been doing over the holiday period – playing games and watching films.

Some snowy pics.

At last I have a found a Wii Fit. I have been on the look out for this illusive piece of equipment to compliment my Nintendo Wii for months but none were available. On Saturday we were wandering around the mall and as we were leaving Chris suggested looking in Toys R Us to see if they had one. I said well we can look but they won’t have it – but they did and it was $10 cheaper than I was expecting to pay. Yippee!

We set it up later and it really appears to be excellent value ($89 + tax). The balance board is very well made and robust and the exercises and games look fun. I have only tried a few of them but already love the step class, although it appears yoga is not my thing as it keeps telling me my balance is bad.

There is a skiing game which tests your reactions and balance and I was terrible, but I was even worse at the ski jumping so I don’t think I will be taking that up any time soon! There is also a football heading game which I was really really bad at. It appears my natural instinct is to avoid the ball not head it – oh well I never have liked footy!

When you first set up the Wii Fit it weighs you and asks your height etc to come up with your body mass index or BMI – apparently I am normal – which is a relief. I think this will be great fun to use and will allow me to exercise in the privacy of the house. It will also be useful in the winter when we cannot get out and about so much.

I just have to persuade Chris to use it too now!!!
