First snow of the season

Yesterday I was happily painting my nails when suddenly it went really dark. I looked out the window and it was snowing, yes snowing. Chris was downstairs watching the football so I shouted down to him that it was snowing. I don’t think he believed me at first, but once he came up to look he saw for himself. It snowed big fluffy flakes for about 45 mins then stopped. It did settle a bit, but once it actually stopped snowing it soon vanished.

I suppose we must accept that summer is over and that although we are in autumn, winter is just around the corner.

On another note I am still looking at family history and yesterday had a huge breakthrough with Chris’s tree. I found a line in his family that took me back to 1625. I couldn’t believe it, I never thought I would get that far back. This particular line is based around the Upavon area in Wiltshire, UK. This has given me even more incentive to look further into both trees.

First frost of the season

Yes, this morning – Thanksgiving – we woke up to the first frost of the season. The grass was covered as were the roofs. At least we don’t have snow yet as some parts of Canada do, or have done over the past week or so. However we also had a beautiful sunrise. This photo was taken at around 7am this morning.
